چکیده
Abstract The determination of minimum flow requirements for green small hydropower plants (GSHP) in China primarily relies on hydrological methods such as the Tennant method with no seasonal variation. However, direct application without local ecological data calibration lacks validity, potentially resulting unsuitable recommendations aquatic biota. Hydraulic‐habitat modelling (HHM) is assumed to provide more ecologically relevant and reliable environmental (EFRs), but benthic macroinvertebrates (BMs), crucial food web, have rarely been focus HHM studies. Moreover, strong subjectivity processes hinders comparison EFRs across different biota geographical regions. This study aims investigate validity using set BM communities impacts various used derived EFRs. To achieve this, a pseudo‐2D approach employed, integrating 1D hydraulic models HEC‐RAS CASiMiR habitat model HABFUZZ. downstream Jiufeng reservoir, one China's first GSHPs, are wet (April–June) dry seasons (July–September). Our findings highlight that setting alone inadequate preserving community integrity GSHPs. It incorporate diverse criteria, including flows peak flows, into GSHP assessment standards, recommended levels varying seasons. Additionally, development standardized methodology essential mitigate inherent facilitate generated from study's innovative framework will enhance optimization criteria China, deepen understanding e‐flow communities, refine recommendation.

Modeling is the analysis of the ...
متن کاملFlow Regime: habitat and macroinvertebrate response
Introduction: Rivers are complex linear features, (Petts, 1994). Assessing habitat quality and composition has traditionally focused on reaches of 10s metres, recently interest has moved to the mesoscale (100s of metres) e.g. Paraseiwicz (2001); Maddock and Bird (1996). Assessment at the catchment scale is the ultimate goal, e.g. European Water Framework Directive (Bragg et al, 2005) and will p...
متن کاملDeclines and extinctions of mountain yellow- legged frogs have small effects on benthic macroinvertebrate communities
Species extinctions have the potential to dramatically reshape ecological communities. In the Sierra Nevada mountains of California, the emergence of a lethal amphibian pathogen (Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis) drives mountain yellowlegged frog (Rana muscosa and Rana sierrae) populations to local extinction. Prior to population declines, these frogs and their tadpoles were abundant, highlevel p...
متن کاملBenthic Macroinvertebrate/ Water Quality
The Ecology contribution to address this question is to determine possible physicochemical impacts on 1) pond water quality and biological integrity, and 2) avulsed pit pond water quality and biological integrity in the historical pit location and receiving waters. These questions will be addressed by all study partners together in a more comprehensive fashion after the interim phase of reporting.
